Mariano Moreno Bus Station
This bus station is used for short, medium and long distance buses. You can take buses from and to Rosario of all types, between cities, provinces and countries.
It is estimated that 340,000 buses are used annually (almost 930 per day) and that move 13,500,000 people annually, constituting a focal point in passenger transport not only for Rosario, but also for its vast area of influence.
The building was designed by the architects Micheletti and Chanourdie and the company L. Falcone was in charge of the construction of the building. The initial place for this station was the one of the Provincial Railway Station (Estación Central del Ferrocarril Provincial de Santa Fe). Inaugurated in 1929 with the same appearance it shows nowadays, the big tower was so preponderant that it could be seen at the distance.
On January 1st 1947, under Peron’s presidency, there was a process of nationalization of railways and the buildings and infrastructure of some railway companies were unified, some railway branches were disaffected, and the same happened with some buildings and stations. This was the case of the Railway of Santa Fe Province. It was affected by this measure and the local station was closed. On December 1st, 1950, it was inaugurated as Bus Station.
